About

A movement with a purpose

Face the Fight’s collective efforts have made significant strides in preventing veteran suicide and providing essential support to those in need.

Facing the Challenge

Veteran suicide remains one of the most urgent challenges facing the military community today. The veteran suicide rate is 60% higher than the national average, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among veterans under 45. Since 2001, more than 140,000 veterans have died by suicide.

Face the Fight was created to change this trajectory. As a national initiative, it seeks to dramatically reduce veteran suicide by 2032 by breaking stigma, fostering honest conversations, and empowering communities with the tools they need to support those who’ve served.

Founded in 2023 by USAA, Reach Resilience, and the Humana Foundation, Face the Fight brings together more than 300 coalition members across sectors to scale proven solutions and expand support nationwide. Together, this growing movement is built on one powerful belief: no veteran should ever face life’s challenges alone.
